Breast Thermography

Breast Thermography is non-invasive, comfortable and safe, using no radiation and no compression of the breast. A screening procedure that captures images of the breast to aid in the early detection of breast irregularities. It is based on the principle of temperature variation, chemical and blood vessel activity in the area of developing breast cancer, it is almost always higher than in a normal breast. Images are captured with ultra-sensitive digital infrared camera and analyzed with computers that seek to detect the increases in surface temperature and vascular changes. Just as unique as a fingerprint, each patient has a particular infrared map of their breasts. Any modification of this infrared map on serial imaging (images taken over months to years) may constitute an early sign of an abnormality.

Breast Ultrasound Screenings

Breast Ultrasound uses sound waves to make images of the breast and often used as a follow-up test after an abnormal finding on a mammogram, breast MRI, clinical breast exam or breast thermography. Breast Ultrasound Screening can help provide early detection in breast cancer. The chances of survival are the highest when found in the early stages. All women should have a breast screening plan no matter their level of risk. Here are a few factors that greatly increase risk of breast cancer: BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene mutation, strong family history of breast cancer, personal history of breast cancer. Women with dense breast tissue benefit from a breast ultrasound because the dense breast tissue on mammograms appear as white area which resembles the same as cancer.
